Day 1 – Portland to Boise We set out early in the morning, eager to hit the road and begin our journey. The drive from Portland to Boise was long but scenic, taking us through the Columbia River Gorge and over the Blue Mountains. We stopped for lunch in Pendleton, a historic town known for its woolen mills and cowboy culture. As we drove through Idaho, we were struck by the vastness of the landscape, with rolling hills and fields stretching as far as the eye could see. We arrived in Boise in the late afternoon, tired but excited for the next leg of our journey.
Day 2 – Boise to Moab We woke up early and set out on the road once again, this time headed for Moab, Utah. The drive took us through the Sawtooth Mountains, with towering peaks and crystal-clear lakes dotting the landscape. As we descended into Utah, the scenery changed dramatically, with red rock formations and canyons surrounding us on all sides. We stopped for lunch in Salt Lake City, then continued on our way to Moab. The town itself was bustling with activity, with adventurers from all over the world coming to explore the nearby national parks.
Day 3 – Moab to Santa Fe Today was the longest and most challenging day of our journey, as we made our way from Moab to Santa Fe. We started out early in the morning, driving through the desert landscape and passing by several iconic landmarks, including Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. As we crossed the state line into New Mexico, the scenery shifted once again, with mesas and buttes rising up out of the earth. The last leg of the journey was challenging, as we navigated winding mountain roads and steep inclines, but the views were well worth it. As we pulled into Santa Fe, we were tired but exhilarated, having completed a journey that took us through some of the most stunning scenery in the American West.
Overall, our road trip from Portland to Santa Fe was an unforgettable adventure, filled with incredible scenery and endless possibilities for exploration. We covered over 1,000 miles of terrain, from the lush forests of Oregon to the red rock canyons of Utah and the rugged mountains of New Mexico. Along the way, we met friendly locals, sampled delicious cuisine, and marveled at the incredible natural beauty that surrounded us. This road trip reminded us of the vastness and diversity of our country, and left us with a deep appreciation for the incredible landscapes and cultures that make America so unique.
